Ridiculous things: let’s start with a bell

I’m going through old photos for the new year, and here is one of the ridiculous things I found.

Notes
1 Does it ring only in one position?
Does it ring whenever it hits the top?
Does it ring when crossing over the center?
When does it stop ringing?
Does it ever stop ringing?
Why did they pick a light switch?
Was the electrician off that day?
Were there no doorbells in the store that day?
Was this a total hack?
What brought about the total hack?
Had they had a lot of problems with customers not recognizing it or was I the freak?
Do customers ever question why it’s not a doorbell?
Have they ever seen a light switch used to ring a bell previously?
